Caroline McBrayer Hatfield, 69, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.Caroline attended Bledsoe County High School and graduated from Cardome Academy Private Girls School, Georgetown, Ky. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville one year prior to entering Erlanger. She graduated from Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing, Chattanooga. Following graduation, she was employed at Erlanger, Chattanooga Hamilton County Health Department and retired from Memorial Hospital Home Health in 2008.She was of the Baptist faith, a loving wife, mother and Nana.She was preceded in death by loving parents, J. D. McKechnie and Virginia McKechnie Grills; first husband, William Clyde McBrayer; and brother, Jerry McKechnie.Survivors include her loving husband, Tom Hatfield; loving children, Jeff (Celine) McBrayer, Cindy K. (Bob) Hiestand; step-son, William McBrayer; two precious grandchildren, Rylee McBrayer, William T. Hiestand; two brothers, David (Sarah) McKechnie, of Henderson, Ky., Arthur K. (Martha) McKechnie, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Nancy McKechnie, of Pikeville, Tenn.; three step children, Farrah (Matt) Fields, Rhonda (Chris) Cagle, both of Pikeville, Tenn., Ron (Deanna) Hatfield, of Kennesaw, Ga.; five grandchildren, one step great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Arms officiating.
