John Tucker

ROSSVILLE John Lewis Tucker, 87, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in a local healthcare facility.He was a member of Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church and had retired from the food service industry. He served in the U.S. Navy/Naval Reserve for 42 years and achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. His passions in life were the Atlanta Braves, Chattanooga Lookouts and his family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lorena Tucker; and brother, W.A. Tucker.Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bernice Tucker; four daughters, Linda (Nick) Harrison, Sandra (Barry) Atcheson, Karen (Tony) Porter and Rhonda (George) Lind; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wallace; brother, Don Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Gilchrist and Rev.
