WHITWELL Donald W. "Donnie" Brown, 75, born July 11, 1937 received his new body Wednesday morning, April 24, 2013, and has gone home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior where there will never be anymore sickness, after a lifelong battle with diabetes and a three-year battle with dementia and blindness We can all find peace in knowing his pain and suffering is no more. Donald was met by all his love ones that had gone on before.Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Katherine Brown; sister, Gertrude Hobdy; brothers, Kenneth and Thomas Brown.Those left to cherish his precious memories are his wife, an amazing caregiver of 56 years, Patsy R. Brown; his loving daughter, Kathy and Tommy Yell, of Whitwell; two grandchildren who he adored with his whole heart, Melissa and Dan Porterfield, of Chattanooga, Misty Yell, of Whitwell; two great-granddaughters, Chloe and Hannah Kate Porterfield whom he thought hung the moon both of Chattanooga; one dear sister, Nellie Coker, of Portland, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews and special friends.The family with receive friends 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today, April 25, 2013.Funeral service with be at 11 a.m. CST Friday, April 26, 2013.Interment at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tenn.Send condolences and share photos at whitwellmemorialfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home 423-658-7777.
