Rice Jr., 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in Jacksonville, Fla.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louvenia Pickett Rice Sr.; siblings, Neal and Harry Rice and Nannie Lou Trotter.Survivors include his daughters, Deanna Cameron and Shakita Rice; grandchild, LaDarius Thomas; siblings, Rev. Will (Edna) Rice, Vernella (Rev. Henry) Smith, Missouri Benford, Florine Crutcher, Rev. Albert (Linda) Rice, Sr., Bessie (Rev. Dr. Eugene) Giles, Franklin (Sandra) Rice, Roosevelt Rice; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, April 26, 2013 in the chapel.Interment in National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.The will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
