Johnny Joe Underwood, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and spending time with his family. He retired from Shaw Industries with 18 years of service.He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Underwood; grandmother, Ada McCormack; aunt, Allie Clemmons; granddaughter, Chloe Adele Mabry; and a most beloved pet dog, Gizmo.Survivors include his adoring wife, Carole Hall-Underwood; daughters: Johnnie "Susie" (Jeff) Kirk, Wendi (Russell) Higgins and Lori (Steve) Mabry; grandchildren, Ben Laurance, Jordan Krause, Jessica Higgins, Peyton Kirk, Sidney Kirk; and great-granddaughter, Kiki Wooten.Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.
