James Davis

James John Davis, 84, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in a local hospital.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of George Williams College and spent his career with the YMCA and United Way.He was preceded in death by his parents, Llewellyn and Katherine Davis; daughter, Sandra Laura.Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marjorie B. Davis; daughters, Patricia and family, Katherine J. Preston and family; son, James L. and wife; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Services will be held 1 p.m. today, at St. Albans Episcopal Church located at 7514 Hixson Pike in Hixson.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Albans Memorial Fund in James Davis name.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Advantage Funeral Cremation Services Franklin-Strickland-Pinkard-Bryan-Smith Funeral Directors 1724 McCallie Ave., 423-265-4414.
