Allen Laminack

ROSSVILLE V. Allen Laminack, 69, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at a local hospital.He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area where he was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Rock Spring. He had been an Agent for Ranger Landstar Transportation for over 25 years before co-owning Choo Choo Transportation. Allen was an avid billiards player who was active in leagues and tournaments in the Chattanooga area. Allen was a passionate Alabama Football fan, a NASCAR fan, and he also enjoyed watching dirt track racing. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Lorene Laminack; paternal grandparents, Allen and Viola Laminack; and maternal grandparents, Victor and Verdi Styles.Survivors include his wife, Lynn Laminack; two sons, Barry Laminack, of Rossville and Greg (Paige) Laminack, of Ringgold; step-children, Mick Thomason, of Rossville, Mike (Amanda) Morgan, of East Ridge, and Janel (Jim) Sheppard, of East Brainerd; grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Ryan, and Erika Laminack, Sadie and Olivia Sheppard, and Mia Morgan.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Rock Spring with Brother Mike Angel officiating. Allen will lie in state at the church from 2-3 p.m.Interment will follow in the Center Point Cemetery in Noble, GA with Roy Kilgore, Wally Meeks, Joe Roe, Calvin Clark, John Tucker, and Mike Tinker serving as pallbearers.The family will receive friends today from 2-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
