Vernon Sutton

, Jr.CLEVELAND Vernon H. "Vern" Sutton, Jr., 49, departed his earthly home and entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, in a local hospital. Vern was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Gladys Huff and Frank and Marie Sutton; and father-in-law, Bobby Cross. Vern attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church, of Cleveland, Tenn. He grew up in Ooltewah and moved to the Cleveland area when he married in 1990. He worked at Super Saver Grocery later named Fresh and Low in Cleveland. He enjoyed life, his family, and his co-workers. Vern also enjoyed bowling, antique cars and loved his grandchildren very much. Survivors include his true and loving wife and wonderful friend, Rhonda Sutton; sons, Jonathan Sutton, of Cleveland, Chris Shields and his wife Chara, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Clyde, Cayci and Adalyn; parents, Glenna Brogan and her husband Ed, of Ooltewah and Vernon Sutton, Sr. and his wife Cindy, of Ooltewah; brothers, Greg Sutton and his wife Lynn and Scott Sutton and his wife Tracie, all of Ooltewah and his sister Sonya Houchin, of Cleveland; mother in law, Joyce Fowler and her husband Bobby, of Ocoee; along with several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Service will conducted today, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Beecher White officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery in with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
