Mazie Cory

Mary "Mazie" E. Cory, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. She was 98 years old.Mrs. Cory was born in Chattanooga, and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She graduated from Chattanooga High School. Mrs. Cory was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, active in Women in the Church, member of Nell Davis /Steve Bevil Sunday School Class.She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Martin Cory; her parents, Ben E. and Lillian Burney Walraven; and a sister, Dolores Riggs.Mazie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Leslie Cory and Michael and Lynne Cory; grandchildren, Matt and wife, Wendy, Peter and wife, Meghan, Hannah and husband, Jason Bryan and Jeremiah Cory; and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga at 554 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402.Services for Mrs. Cory will follow at 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in the Chapel with Pastor Chris Ehlers officiating.
