Lucille King

DUNLAP Margaret "Lucille" Narramore King, 84, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away suddenly at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland, Mich., and was lifted up to Heaven. Lucille had been visiting her family in Michigan.Beloved wife for 67 years to the late John Thomas King Sr. who had preceded her in death by only 11 days. In death as in life, Lucille and John were nearly inseparable, now together forever. He affectionately called her "Lucy".Lucille was the loving daughter of the late Oscar L. and Bessie L. Graham Narramore, of Dunlap.She was the cherished and loving mother to Gail (Robert) Parks, Janet Colleen (Gian) Delpiano, Lisa (Mack) Harris, and John Thomas (Lynne) King Jr.Her early life was inspired by being part of a large and loving family of six girls and five boys. She is also survived by her dearest sisters, Nola Mae (late Quentin) Hendon, Ina Ruth (Larry) Tucker, Edna Gerlich, Ethel (late Bill) Hodges, Wanda (J.E.) Swafford; her loving brothers, Louis (late Donna) Narramore, Richard (Irene) Narramore and Benny Narramore; dear sister-in-law, Viva Folsom. She was a loving aunt to many and also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.Lucille and John moved to Detroit, Mich., raised their family there while sharing their lives with many and lived life to its fullest.Lucille was a loving homemaker, who loved cooking for and entertaining her family and friends. She had a passion for flowers and gardening and was a member of Valley Garden Club. Lucille was a faithful churchgoer and was a member of Calvary Missionary Church in Michigan. Later, when she returned and retired "back home" to her beloved birthplace, Dunlap, she attended Ewtonville Baptist Church. Lucille thoroughly enjoyed life, and was always smiling.Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Granny". She was a very proud and loving grandmother to John Allan (Regina) Parks, Christina (Jeff) Coop, Kelli (Jerry) Burhans, Alisa (Kurt) Hahn, Kara (Kenneth) Cheatham, Jessica Delpiano (Bassel), Jason (Susie) Gonzalez, Lyndsay Gonzalez, Colt Harris, Clay (Jennifer) Harris, and Casey Harris.Dearest great-grandmother to Bobby (Holly), Nathan, Ryan, Desirae, Zachary, Trevor, Tyler, Bradley, Logan, Jared Gianthomas, Colby, Skylar, John Connor, Caitlin, Omar, Jayla, Taylor and Jayden.Lucille was preceeded in death by her infant brother, Layfette Narramore; brother, Edgar (late Jackie) Narramore; and sister, Nanaleen (late Carl) Land; also brothers-in-law, Arnold (late Mae) King, Owen King; and sister-in-law, Lella Linville, and in-laws, Jesse S. and Icie M.
