Matthew ChandlerDALTON Robert "Matthew" Chandler, 37, of Jackson, Miss. and formerly of Dalton, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at his residence.Matthew was an Eagle Scout; graduated from McCallie School, attended the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He was to receive his masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in August of this year from Mississippi College.Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, I.V. and Ethel Chandler; Matt Troy and Jane Troy; and his uncle, Ike Chandler.He is survived by his parents, Bob and Susan Chandler, of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Joe Lopez, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and nephew, Bobby Lopez, of Boynton Beach; aunts and uncle, Debbie Troy, of Chattanooga, Pat and Fred Burns, of Dalton; cousins and his beloved dogs, Rebel, Monkey, Shiloh and Cormac.Services will be at noon today at ChristChurch Presbyterian with Dr. Mickey Shealy officiating.Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church.The family request flowers be omitted and memorials may be made to the Humane Society of N.W.
