Jo Ann Lawrence, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. A native of Chattanooga, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jane Buchmann Durham. A member of the Christ United Methodist Church, she was also a 1950 graduate of City High School. Survivors include her husband, Homer E. Lawrence, Jr.; two daughters, Karen Stancil and Phyllis (George) Hubbuch; two sons, Steve (Tonya) Lawrence and Mark (Brenda) Lawrence, all of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Mitchell, Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday July 23, in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. til 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
