James Lowery

RINGGOLD James Michael Lowery, 51, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Boynton Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran having been stationed in Germany and was previously employed with ADC Telecommunications for more than 10 years. He had a passion for history and was a member of the Catoosa County Historical Society. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan_"Go Dawgs"! He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, but most of all he loved making others laugh. He was a true man of God that would take any and every opportunity to witness and share the Gospel of Christ with anyone he met. He was a loving and devoted, son, husband, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Lowery; and grandparents, Lawrence and Bernice Holcomb.Survivors include his loving wife of more than 13 years, Kelley Varnell Lowery; mother, Judy Lowery Thornton; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby (Wendy) Lowery, all of Ringgold; three nieces, Lacey Lowery, Zoe and Olivia Hamilton; nephew, Garrett Varnell; great-niece, Khloe Lyons and special Aunt, Audrey Crow.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will begin receiving friends after 3 p.m. Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boynton Baptist Church Maintenance Department, 4093 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, GA 30736, 706-866-1898.Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements by the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes, Ringgold.
