Granvel Lewis

WHITTIER, Calif. Granvel Lebron Lewis, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Whittier, Calif., under Hospice care and his children at his side.Granvel was born on Lewis Chapel Mt. in Dunlap but spent most of his early years in Chattanooga and then moved to California where he and his wife raised their family. Granvel was an Upholster for "Sheffield Chair Mfg" or 30 or more years. He was a member of the "Compton Hunting and Fishing Club" where his member brothers will hold a "Celebration of Life" in memory of him after his Cremation. Granvel was an avid sports fan and loved fishing. He spent many weekend trips with his Son, Lebron, who loved fishing as much as his dad.Granvel was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Pete and Mae Lewis, also brothers, Gene and Coleman Lewis; and 3 sisters, Bessephine, Mary Helen and Jo ann.Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Marie Lewis; daughters, Donna Crane and Faye Lewis; sons, Lebron and Dennis Lewis; Also sister, Doris Dodd; and brothers Garnette and Steve Lewis; 8 Grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed but he left us with wonderful cherished memories.His cremation was by So-Cal Cremations in Van Nuys, Calif. The family suggest that any memorial contributions be made to "Hospice of Chattanooga" at P.O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
