Charlotte Walker

Charlotte Hamilton Walker, 93, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, Tenn. She was born in Prescott, Ark., and raised in Little Rock where she graduated from Little Rock Junior College. She was preceded in death by husbands, Dr. John Milton Higgason with whom she lived in Chattanooga 32 years and Eugene Samuel "Bud" Walker, of Palm Harbor, Fla. She is survived by two children, John Milton Higgason Jr. (Connie), of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., Robin Higgason Seale (Ben), of Holly Springs, Miss.; four stepsons; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to being a homemaker and avid golfer, she was previously president of United Methodist Women at First Centenary United Methodist Church, Chattanooga, president of Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Auxiliary, president of Riverview Garden Club, and chairman of Ladies Golf, Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, as well as a member of several boards during her many years of volunteerism. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 2, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Chapel of Devotion with The Rev. and Honorable Sam Payne, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial gifts be sent to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 596, Holly Springs, MS 38635.
