Joseph Scheivelhud

Joseph Russell Scheivelhud, 99, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. He was born in East Ridge, to the late George and Jessie Scheivelhud. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Atlantic City, N.J., where he served his military duty. While there he married Erna Reinersmann and after many years returned to Fort Oglethorpe. Survivors include a sister, Norene Scheivelhud Reece; and a brother, Howard (Betty) Scheivelhud. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Elmer Scheivelhud; and sisters, Katherine Densel, Ethel Huff; and stepson, Richard Reinersmann. Russell had many nieces and nephews whom he loved. A special thanks to W.R. Huff who was "there" for his Uncle Russell. He is survived by a step-daughter, Eva (Al) Kaufmann and their children. Lee Griggs at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home on Cloud Springs Road in Fort Oglethorpe.
