Patsy Simpson

Patsy R. Simpson, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at a local health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Menzie Reed and was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Simpson; and great-grandson, Isaac Vandergriff. She was born on Feb. 11, 1934 in Chattanooga, and graduated from Central High School. She was a former shipping clerk with Stone Containers. Patsy was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church and served on various committees for several years. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Raymond L. Simpson, of Chattanooga; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Carr (Johnny), of Winchester, Tenn., Brenda Lucas (John Michael), Karen McNair (Larry), Susan Lee (Jerry), all of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. John W. Carr officiating. The burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Eric Carr, John Hill, Michael Lucas, Thomas Lucas, Talmadge Geathers, Chadwick Lee, Christopher Lee and Michael Lindie serving as pallbearers.
