Robert Phillips

Bob Phillips Robert "Bob" Louis Phillips, 83, of Hixson, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. Bob was born in Sale Creek, Tenn., on Dec. 1 , 1929. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from Chattanoogas E.I. DuPont after over 40 years of service. Bob was a long time member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church and coached boy's baseball and girls softball in Red Bank for many years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. L.D. and Mary Phillips; grandson, Nicholas Phillips; three brothers, David, Roger and Jim Phillips. His greatest joy was his family. Bob is survived by his wife, Jean Phillips, of Hixson; three sons, Jim (Robin), Michael (Cynthia), Ken (Sonia) Phillips; daughter, Nancy Wallace; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchild; sister, Jean Carroll. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 4-6 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 2, from 10-11 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. A graveside service for Bob will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
