James Tate

RINGGOLD James Edward Tate, 78, departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at his home.He was born in Chattanooga to the late Jack and Elizabeth Tate. He was owner/operator of Tri City Heating & Air and was later maintenance supervisor for RBR Properties. James loved to make cars, trucks, etc. out of wood and was an avid NASCAR fan.He was also preceded in death by his brother, John D. Tate; and grandmother, Beulah Spence. Survivors include his sons, Jimmy (Beverly) Tate, of Ringgold, Chris (Regina) Tate, of Hixson; aunt, Lucille Spence, of Ringgold; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a niece.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, in the chapel with Rev. Chris Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.Viewing will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. today and prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
