Mary Eidson

Mary Rose Eidson passed away, Wednesday, April 2nd 2014. She was a life-long residence of the Chattanooga area. She was born June 24, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Irene De Floreo; and brother, Roy De Floreo; she adored her husband James Eidson with whom she shared a 73 year long loving marriage. He passed away in 2011. Mary Rose and her husband were the owners of Eidson Restaurant, located in East Ridge for 56 years. She was active in the business for 50 of those years. Previous to the establishment of Eidson Restaurant they owned and operated two other Chattanooga restaurants, The Central Cafe on Dodds Ave. and The DoNut Cafe on Ringgold Road. Mary was a dedicated business woman sharing the challenges of operating a family business with her husband. Foremost she was a devoted, supportive and loving wife and mother. Her home and family always came first. Her sweet smile would brighten your day and she was dearly loved and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a long time member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Seagle and son-in-law, Donald Seagle; and son, Jim Eidson Jr. and daughter-in-law, Judy Neal Eidson; two grandsons Kris Eidson and Alex Eidson; and her pet cat, Amber. She spent her final days at life-Care Center of East Ridge where she established a busy life participating in all activities and making new friends. She often remarked how good the staff was to her and the family is thankful for their kindness. Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and Florist, 404 S. Moore Road. The family will receive family and friends for visitation at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 8th, 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Flaugher at 2:30 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens and Mausoleum South, 325 Greenslake Road.
