Orlando Smith

Orlando Fitzgerald Smith, 39, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Pikeville. He was formerly employed by Komatsu and was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Hughes; and grandfather, Oliver Smith Sr. Survivors include his daughter, Jaquira Smith, of Atlanta; father, Leonard Blackstock; grandmother, Louise Smith; brothers, Alex Hughes, Jermine, Leonard, Carlton and Allen: sisters, Latoya Hughes and Keosha Walton; uncles, James (Shirley) Freeman, Oliver Smith Jr., Lester (April) Blackstock and Sherman Blackstock; aunts, Rosetta (George) Turney, Pamela Langston and Evelyn (Orlando) Robinson; nephew, Jaylen Chambers; nieces, Janiyah Chambers, Jasmine Kelley and Demetria Higginbotham, all of Chattanooga; several cousins; other relatives and friends. The body will lie-in-state today after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Orchard Knob Baptist Church with Pastor George Turney as the eulogist. Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
