Lyndale Steadman

Lyndale S. Steadman passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Hutcheson Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Fall Branch, Tenn., to the late Fred Pierce and Molly Mae Steadman. He had lived in the Chickamauga area since 1969. He owned and operated Steadman Htg. & A/C, a family owned business with his son Adam for many years and was well known for his integrity and devotion to his customers, friends, and family. He was a loving husband and father and member of Wallaceville Baptist Church. Lyne enjoyed NASCAR and spending time working on his farm. Lyne is a Veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served with the 101st Airborne Division, "The Screaming Eagles", 8th Infantry Airborne Division, and the 77th Special Forces, later redesignated as the 7th Special Forces Group. He was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers, and his beloved son, Clay Steadman. Left to celebrate his life is one sister, Marjorie Dawson, of Fall Branch Tenn.; wife, Kaye Ella Steadman; son, Adam Steadman, of Rochester, N.Y., Jason Steadman of LaFayette, Ga.; and grandchildren, Amanda Steadman, of Rock Spring Ga., Matthew Steadman, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Aubrey Steadman, of LaFayette, Ga. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was a good man that will never be forgotten. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 25, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, with service to follow in Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Millican, and Pastor Aaron Pope. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
