Daniel Wilson

Daniel Britton Wilson, 79, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was born to the late James H. and Stella Grace Myers Wilson on August 21, 1934 in Ravan, Va. He was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle, a retired mechanics instructor at Saint Augustine Technical College, a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Raymond Wilson; brothers, Gene and Marvin Wilson; sister, Charlotte Holsomback. Survivors include his wife, Gail Wilson, of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; seven children, Pat Churchey, of Jacksonville, Fla., Danny (Linda) Wilson, of LaFayette, Ga., Kathy Metcalf, of Saint Augustine, Fla., David Wilson, of Jacksonville, Fla., Rhonda (Rodney) Defore, of Chatsworth, Ga, Thurman (Linda) Dean, of Chatsworth, Ann (Duane) York, of Tunnel Hill; brother, Gillis (Lynn) Wilson, of Sumter, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In honor of Mr. Wilson's request to be cremated, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Spring Cemetery in Rock Spring, Ga.
