Doris Raschke

Doris Jane Raschke (ne Eaves) died peacefully Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, at the age of 79. Doris is survived by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tilford Layne, of Escondido, Calif.; her beloved aunt and sister-in-law, Billie Watson, of Ooltewah; her dear aunt, Jean Wiley, of Etowah: her seven children and their spouses, Andy and Sonya Watson, of Cleveland; Tom and Kathy Watson, of Knoxville, Tim and Kim Watson, of Boulder, Colo., Lynne and Randy Rose, of Chattanooga, David and Roxanne Raschke, of Knoxville, Victoria Raschke and Keifel Agostini, of Nashville, and J Karl and April Raschke, also of Chattanooga; her 23 grandchildren, Chase, Bailey, Logan, Corey, Amanda, Emily, Preston, Mallory, Ethan, Adlynn, Lydia, Nolan, Alex, Madeline, Solomon, Gabriella, Samuel, Julian, Naomi, Ishara, Jadyn, Miller, and Blaze; and her six great-grandchildren, Levi, Ava, Kenzley, Knox, Liam, and Felicity Kay; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Keshe; her father, Cletus Eaves; her first husband, Richard Watson; and her second husband, William Raschke. Doris was born on Oct. 2, 1932 in Cleveland, Tenn., to Evelyn and Cletus Eaves. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1950. She married Richard Watson in 1952. The couple welcomed four children into their home. Doris remarried in 1972 to William Raschke and had two more children in addition to Williams children from his previous marriage. William and Doris moved to Tennessee from Michigan and eventually opened their own custom framing and printing business in Kingston. She is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being surrounded by her family, an avid fisher who loved to spend time at the lake, a talented and creative artist, and a wonderful cook who would never let a visitor go hungry. A memorial service to celebrate Doris's life is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23, at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston Tenn. Receiving of friends begins at 2 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALF Activities Fund.
