Ted Rowe

William Edward "Ted" Rowe Jr., of Signal Mountain, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at the age of 52. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. William E. Rowe, of Chattanooga; the brother of Ebbie Rowe (George) Cruddas, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Chris (Barbaranelle) Rowe, of Chattanooga; and the uncle of Austin Royal and Elizabeth and Caroline Rowe. He is survived by two young sons, William James Rowe and Clayton Andrew Rowe; his father-in-law, Jim Goodridge (Dorothy) and mother-in-law, Nancy Goodridge. Ted and his boys recently moved back to Chattanooga and were residents of Signal Mountain, where the boys attend school. Their move was very timely as it allowed him to be a full-time caregiver to his mother and father while his mother recovered from an illness. He was happiest at this time. Ted worked in the restaurant industry across the Southeast for most of his adult life as a chef, manager and owner. He was a caring individual and loved to serve others. He attended Bright School, McCallie School and graduated from Austin Peay University with a degree in bio-chemistry. Ted has been a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2014, at North Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home and from noon-1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the McEwen Chapel at First Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will be held in the McEwen Chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday Nov. 21, with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to William Edward Rowe Jr., scholarship fund for the benefit of Teds sons at 1105 Concord Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405; or to the ministry of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402.
