Peggy Stanfield.

Peggy Stanfield FORT OGLETHORPE Peggy Heathcoat Stanfield, 80, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Rosewood Assisted Living. Peggy retied from the Catoosa County Board of Education and taught elementary school for many years. Peggy was an active volunteer and served her community up until the time of her death. Her many accomplishments include establishing the Senior and Friends Program, maintaining the city scrapbook and organizing the Labor Day celebration in Fort Oglethorpe. Peggy created and hosted the television show Senior Moments on station UCTV. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Stanfield. Survivors include daughter, Nancy Stanfield, Atlanta; son, Scott Stanfield and fianc Kitty Wenck, Fort Oglethorpe; granddaughter, Kristin Reid and her husband Jonathan Reid, Toronto; and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Bennett. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe. Burial will follow at National Cemetery in Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions may be made to Lana's Love Foundation, 1801 E. 24th Street Place Chattanooga, TN 37407 or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and after noon Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
