Mary Berry

Mary Hume Berry, formerly of Chattanooga and Somerset, Ky., passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the age of 93. She was born in Mackville, Ky. and worked as a nutritionist for Pulaski County. She was a 1942 graduate of the University of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Retired LTC Marion Nick Berry; daughter, Leanna Austin; parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Hume; sister, Evelyn Johnson; and her brother, JD Hume. Survivors include her grandson, Alex Shearer (Vickie); and three great-grandsons, Braden, Grant and Zander, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; her sister, Anna Durbin, of Louisville, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Monday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga with Rev.
